On February 6, 2019 flood waters invaded seven buildings at Camp Garner Creek--from a few inches to 4 feet. It was the harshest visit ever from Garner's Creek since the MidSouth District Church of the Nazarene purchased the camp in 1974. Even today we continue to slowly and methodically replace what was damaged.
With a full schedule of camps for the remainder of 2019, we are focusing first on bringing the dining hall back online, so we are able to open our doors to our groups who have already planned their retreats. Pray for these groups. It is a big deal
when a retreat has to be cancelled. So much planning has gone into the anticipated weekend.
After the dining hall is re-opened we will move to the other buildings so ministry can carry on as usual.
The damage is a shock to our budget, and our income is cut off until we are able to open our doors. Insurance covers some. Your donations make up the remainder.
